Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Patent Agent with a keen interest in the technology industry. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting our legal team in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patent searches, and providing technical expertise on patent-related matters. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to identify and assess potential inventions for patentability.
- Conduct thorough patent searches and analyze prior art to determine the novelty and patentability of inventions.
- Draft and prepare patent applications, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
- Assist in the prosecution of patent applications, including drafting responses to office actions and conducting interviews with patent examiners.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the legal team regarding patent law, patent strategy, and intellectual property protection.
- Conduct technology assessments and analyze competitor patents to identify potential infringement or licensing opportunities.
- Assist in intellectual property due diligence activities, including reviewing and analyzing patent portfolios during mergers, acquisitions, or licensing agreements.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in patent law, industry trends, and emerging technologies relevant to our organization.
Qualifications:
- Certified Patent Agent with a strong technical background, preferably in a technology-related field.
- Solid understanding of patent laws, regulations, and procedures.
- Excellent research and analytical skills to conduct comprehensive patent searches and analyze prior art.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively draft patent applications and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in patent database and search tools.
- Prior experience in a law firm or corporate legal department is desirable.
- Passion for technology and a strong interest in staying updated with the latest advancements in the field.
